Measuring for Divider Rails
Measuring For Divider Rails
Divider rails serve as a support to prevent louvers from sagging. 1 divider rail is required on shutters over 60” tall. 2 dividers are required on shutters over 96” tall.
For those measuring a window with multiple window panes, we recommend designing your shutters with a Divider Rail to match the design of your window. You can choose to design your shutters with a divider rail and if your shutter is over 96” tall you are required to have 2 divider rails.
Measuring The Position Of Your Divider Rail for an Inside Mount
Measure from the bottom of the window to the middle of the point you decide upon.
- For an inside mount with no sill, measure from the bottom of the recess.
- For an inside mount with a sill, measure from the top of the sill.
Measuring The Position Of Your Divider Rail for an Outside Mount
- For an outside mount with molding, measure from the edge of the molding
- For an outside mount with a sill, measure from the top of the sill
If measuring for a second divider rail, follow the instruction above to the point of the second divider rail.
Divider rail positions may be altered by 2”+/- to ensure that we can fit all louvers evenly in your shutter.
