Direct mount shutters are installed without a surrounding frame, with the hinges attached directly to the window jamb. This creates a clean, built-in appearance and can be a great solution for certain window openings. We do offer a direct mount option upon request. While it is not currently listed as a standard public option, customers who would like their shutters direct mounted can simply select an Inside Mount L-Frame and note "Direct Mount" in the cart notes during checkout. Our team will review the order and manufacture the shutters accordingly.
For direct mount installations, the magnetic catches located at the top and bottom of the panels require a mounting surface. To accommodate this, a light stop will be included with your order. The light stop will be positioned to align with the magnets, providing the necessary surface for proper magnetic closure and secure operation of the shutter panels.
Direct mount shutters are slightly more difficult to install, as you are aligning the hinges yourself. If you are not comfortable doing this, a standard frame option may be best.
