Bi-Fold Plantation Shutter

A bi-fold plantation shutter is a great shutter if you plan to open your shutter panels regularly. Traditionally, a one-panel shutter will swing widely into the room and is often restricted due to furniture or walls. A standard two-panel configuration is an "LR". Two panels that close into each other. This can have the same problems as the one-panel configuration.

Size permitting, you can select a two-panel bi-fold configuration ("LL" or "RR") and minimize the obstructive nature of the swinging panels by folding them into each other on just one side. You can also achieve this on larger windows with a four-panel shutter using an LLRR configuration like in the photo below.
