Find your solution
Bamboo shades have always come with a cord problem. The classic woven shade lifts on a cord or a bead chain that hangs past the sill, and that loop sits exactly where a toddler's hand or a curious cat ends up. Cordless bamboo shades and blinds keep the warm, textured weave and lose the hanging cords. You lift the shade from the bottom rail and it stays where you leave it, so the window looks tidier and the room is safer for children and pets. Every shade here is made to the width and height you measure and shipped direct to you.
Which cordless bamboo shades and blinds to choose
Our woven wood shades are made from bamboo, jute, reed, grass, flax and ramie, in weaves that run from pale and whitewashed to deep brown, and every one can be ordered cordless. The cordless lift is a spring system in the headrail with a safety rope loop, with an optional cordless wand for tall windows.
All three fold styles come cordless. Waterfall flows from the front of a hidden headrail for a smooth, continuous face. Flat fold hangs in a crisp flat plane when lowered. Hobbled holds soft cascading folds at any height. As a rule, flat fold suits modern rooms, hobbled suits traditional and cottage rooms, and waterfall sits between them.
Then choose the liner. Unlined, a woven shade is roughly half see-through, lovely by day but see-through after dark with the lamps on. A light filtering liner adds daytime privacy while the room stays bright, and a blackout liner makes the shade fully blackout for a bedroom or nursery. A cordless twin build adds a movable liner that raises and lowers separately from the woven face.
Sizes and mounting depth for cordless bamboo
Cordless bamboo shades are made from 19 3/4 to 96 inches wide and from 18 to 106 inches high. If the window is taller than 106 inches, clutch and motorized builds reach 118 inches of drop. If it is narrower than 19 3/4 inches, the clutch system goes down to 11 3/4 inches.
For a wide opening, two or more shades can share one headrail up to 118 inches in total. With cordless, each shade on that headrail lifts on its own, handy over a window seat where you want one side open and the other closed. A single shared valance tops out at 96 inches.
The cordless headrail is 1 5/8 inches deep. An inside mount needs at least 1 5/8 inches of frame depth, and about 2 1/8 inches if you want the shade to sit flush. A cordless twin with a movable liner uses a deeper 3 1/8 inch headrail and needs about 3 3/4 inches for a flush fit. The valance grows with the shade: 6 inches on shades up to 59 inches high, 8 inches up to 86 5/8 inches, and 12 inches above that. Natural fibers do not like humidity, so choose a fabric shade for bathrooms.
Measuring and installing it yourself
For an inside mount, measure the width at the top, center and bottom of the opening and use the smallest, rounded down to the nearest 1/8 inch. Measure the height on each side with your back to the wall and use the smaller number, then measure the frame depth. Send us those exact numbers and do not deduct anything yourself; the factory takes 1/4 inch off the width for an inside mount.
The shade hangs on brackets 1 3/8 inches high and 1 3/4 inches wide, with 1/2 inch of clearance for the fabric. If your frame is shallower than 1 5/8 inches, mount the shade on the trim or the wall above the window instead. Some looser jute, flax and ramie weaves need a narrow edge binding, about 1/2 inch on the face, so the cut edge does not fray.
Order a sample first if you are choosing between weaves, since natural fibers look different in every room's light. Every cordless bamboo shade is made to your measurements and shipped direct to your door.

How do I measure for my shades?
Choose an inside or outside mount first, then follow our shade measuring guide. Measure each window individually before entering your width and height on the product page.
Should I choose light filtering or blackout?
Light filtering fabric softens daylight. Blackout fabric blocks light through the fabric itself, while light can still enter around the edges. Your mount and any side tracks affect the final result. Solar and unlined woven fabrics have different privacy characteristics, so check the product details.
Can I add a motor?
Open the product configurator to see the controls and motor options offered for that shade. Motor and smart-home compatibility vary by product and the motor you select.
