Find your solution
A zebra shade is the one you adjust most. On a busy kitchen or living room window you slide the bands from privacy to view and back several times a day, and on a standard build that means a chain loop swinging at the side of the glass. Cordless zebra shades and blinds do the same job with no chain at all. You move the shade by hand from the bottom rail, so there is nothing hanging for a child or a pet to catch. Every shade here is made to the width and height you measure and shipped direct to you.
Why choose a cordless zebra shade
A zebra shade, also called a dual or banded shade, runs alternating sheer and solid bands on a single roller. Line the solid bands up and the window closes for privacy. Slide the sheer bands together and daylight comes through a soft screen while you keep the view. That makes it a good fit for rooms where the light changes through the day: kitchens, family rooms, kids' rooms and home offices.
Going cordless matters most in exactly those rooms. Think of a playroom, or any window a cat likes to sit in. It also cleans up the look. With no chain at the side, the cassette and the fabric are all you see, which suits a modern or minimalist room where every line at the window counts.
The fabric range covers 16 colors across two collections, from frost, pearl and ivory through sand, stone and slate to smoke, onyx and obsidian. Pale neutrals keep a small room feeling open and disappear against a white frame. Darker bands read as a deliberate accent against light walls.
Sizes and cassette options for cordless zebra
Zebra is built in a cassette only, so the roller is always hidden; there is no open roll version. We build it on two squared cassettes, and each has its own cordless range. The CB-268 cassette starts at 19 3/4 inches wide when cordless, reaches 96 inches wide, and tops out at 80 inches of drop. The CB-235 cassette needs at least 23 5/8 inches of width for a cordless build and is the one to choose for windows taller than 80 inches. If your window is narrower than either cordless minimum, a chain operated zebra can be made narrower.
For a wide window or a pair of windows side by side, two cordless zebra shades can share one CB-268 headrail. Cordless works only as a separate system on a shared headrail, so each shade lifts on its own.
Measuring and installing it yourself
Decide on an inside or outside mount first. For an inside mount, measure the width and height of the opening and send us the exact figures without taking anything off; the factory applies its own deductions for the tube, fabric and bottom bar. For an outside mount, measure the area you want covered and allow a little overlap on each side so light does not leak around the edges. Check the width against the cordless minimum for the cassette you want before you order.
The cassette hangs on two brackets. Drill with a 0.2 inch (6 mm) bit, set the bracket screws at 1.1 inch spacing, and use the anchor that matches your wall, since drywall and masonry anchors both come in the box. Each bracket has four pre-drilled holes; two screws on opposite sides are enough on a standard wall, and all four are worth using above a door or a stairwell. Hook the groove at the top of the valance onto the bracket latch, press it back until it clicks, and check that both the top and the rear are locked before you let go. To remove it later, press the metal washer at the rear of the bracket rather than prying from the front.

How do I measure for my shades?
Choose an inside or outside mount first, then follow our shade measuring guide. Measure each window individually before entering your width and height on the product page.
Should I choose light filtering or blackout?
Light filtering fabric softens daylight. Blackout fabric blocks light through the fabric itself, while light can still enter around the edges. Your mount and any side tracks affect the final result. Solar and unlined woven fabrics have different privacy characteristics, so check the product details.
Can I add a motor?
Open the product configurator to see the controls and motor options offered for that shade. Motor and smart-home compatibility vary by product and the motor you select.
