Okay I posted this video on my instagram but I thought I would add it here too for anyone on the fence. 1. I LOVE our shutters. We covered all 12 windows in our new house and they feel like the thing that "finishes" the house. 2. The shutters are such an upgrade from normal blinds. We have no plans of moving anytime soon but I will never go back to blinds, I have converted. 3. I was a little nervous going the DIY route that we would be sacrificing quality for a cheaper price but that was not the case. My sister paid to have hers done and the coverly shutters feel even nicer. 4. Yes shutters are a little more bulky than other options but we have big windows so we still get plenty of natural light. The upgraded look is more than worth any light we might be missing out on. 5. Most of our furniture will come and go but these are here to stay. That helped me justify the cost over blinds 😂
I am finally getting around to leaving my review after ordering and hanging my shutters almost a year ago. We moved into a new home last year and I quickly prioritized getting new window treatments in our home. I received several quotes from Hunter Douglas dealers but ultimately could not swallow the price I was going to have to pay. I delayed my decision for months until I came across an ad for Coverly. When I inputted my window dimensions and saw the price, I was intrigued. I did my research, read up on reviews, spoke with one of their design consultants, and built up the courage to DIY everything myself after watching several instruction videos. I knew from photos, reviews, and the samples we received that I was getting a product that was on par with the Hunter Douglas NewStyle Shutters, but it was nearly half the cost. Although this was a little alarming, I was confident in my decision. 3 weeks later, 12 shutters were delivered on 2 pallets and the real work began. I spent the day unboxing and assembling the frames, knowing I preferred my husband to do the actual drill work. The next day was Saturday so we blocked out the day to mount the frames in the windows, attach the panels, and make any necessary adjustments. After 2 or 3 windows, we found our groove and managed to finish in a few hours. Phew! After nearly a year, the shutters look the same as the day we put them up. We have the hidden tilt option and the 4.5 slats, which give us very wide gaps (good for natural light). I probably wipe them down once a month and although it can be tedious, it really isn't difficult because the gaps are so large. CONS: We have 2 windows in our living room that give us a perfect cross breeze in the summer but it can be a bit of a hassle to get them open so we rarely do it. To actually open the windows you have to open the shutter panels and our furniture does not allow you to swing open the panels unless we move it and it ends up being more effort than it's worth. Standard blinds could of course just be pulled up and we could open the window but that's just the nature of the shutters. I guess what I am trying to say is shutters are clunky and as a result we really only open and close the slats and we don't open the whole panels. With that being said, I have no regrets. The beauty of the shutters is so much higher than any standard blind and any small inconvenience is trivial. I will say what I have said to many friends. If you are willing to pay up for a local compnay to do it, you will save yourself probably a day of work, but it will cost you. If you are comfortable with basic tools, you can do shutters yourself.
I had window shutters done in our last home and loved them (20 years ago). It turns out inflation is real and they are not as cheap as they once were. I swallowed the pill and made the order because I know we will have these forever. I'm glad I did, they are exactly as described and really do give our home that "finished" look.
This was our first time buying plantation shutters. I spent a few weeks doing my due diligence. Ultimately, it came down to value. I almost decided to go the cheaper route and buy faux wood blinds but I knew I would wind up regretting it so I made the leap to shutters. A nice lady in our church gave me a quote but her price was almost double that of online stores. I knew I didn't want to sacrifice quality for price and that is how I decided on Coverly. After thoroughly examining the product through the installation process, I know we found the perfect balance of a quality product at a fair price.
We had the L Frame installed because we already had molding around our windows and did not want to do an outside mount. We had to use some caulk to hide a small gap in the corner but overall we are very happy with the product we got and the price we paid.
The split tilt feature is so nice if you have dogs that go crazy looking out the window. We paired our new shutters with some drapes and they turned out so well
We didn't think our windows could accommodate shutters, so we gave Coverly a call anyways and mitchell walked us through our options and we found a frame option that worked after all. Delivery was quick and installation wasn't that hard and it would have been easier if our drill didn't die on us halfway in.
I put these in my home gym and they are almost too nice for a gym. I like to think I am handy but my wife sometimes says otherwise. Well she can't deny it now! I already ordered again for the rest of our house and look forward to getting my delivery next week.

Im honestly surprised this worked for perfectly. Installation was shockingly easy, even in this space nearly 7 feet wide. The shutters are beautiful, fit perfectly, and function as advertised. The same week I ordered from Coverly, I got a quote for custom shutters for this space for $19,000 (not a typo). It’s amazing I was able to do it with Coverly for <10% the cost! And the customer service was so refreshing. An Actual Human Person, not an AI bot, texting me with excellent advice when I made mistakes on the install. I really like my shutters. They are an amazing upgrade to my home. Super easy to install. It took a few hours to do four rooms. I plan to recommend to friends. I can even help them install it if they aren’t skilled enough. It’s so easy a caveman can do it.

I absolutely love these shutters. They are beautiful and I love that I can hang them myself. They are very easy to install. This is my 4th shutter I’ve purchased from Coverly and I’ve got 5 more to go. I love the support I received regarding my delivery.
Orders arrive close to the estimated time of completion. It was packed safely and securely in two boxes. Items came with no instructions but overall install was straight forward. Although it was trail and error on the bigger shutter, the smaller shutter took me less than 30 mins to install and mount. Craftsmanship is very good, definitely feels more premium compared to other shutters I've tested. Not cheap plastic and not as heavy as wooded shutters. I'd suggest test fitting first before mounting and drilling in. Depending on the size ordered, installation and mount can be done by one person. Material is light and sturdy. I'd highly recommend and would purchase again.

We were MORE than thrilled that we found Coverly. We were quoted an extremely high price for shutters to be installed. When not only saved money with Coverly, we were able to install the shutters ourselves and they look great. The measurement were easy to do and they fit our windows exactly. We had 8 shutters made and will be ordering more when we remodel the rest of our home.
The shutter itself appears to be good quality and I was ultimately able to install it, but the measuring guidance for inside mounts could use improvement. I followed the website instructions and submitted the correct window measurements, but the way the measurements are described doesn’t fully account for the clearance needed at the top. Because of that, the shutter didn’t initially fit as expected and required some adjustments during installation. Customer support mostly reiterated the measurements rather than addressing the underlying issue with the measurement guidance. Overall, the product quality seems solid, but the instructions for measuring inside mounts likely need refinement to prevent this situation for other customers.

We are pleased with the shutters overall. The installation instructions could benefit from greater clarity and detail. For example, the small washers that fit between the hinge components are particularly challenging to install. Positioning all of them at once is time-consuming and often results in dropping them, which adds to the frustration during assembly. Additionally, the left shutter in this set does not fully close without applying extra pressure. This indicates that the fit is not as precise as our previous set of shutters. They do stay shut due to the magnets.
